Bob Effinger is a Vice President with The Mentor Group. He manages and performs a variety of real estate and construction related services, with emphasis on cost segregation studies to maximize tax savings from accelerated depreciation.
He has testified extensively as an expert witness in Federal Tax Court and many appellate courts, as well as before the IRS on audits
Bob Effinger has analyzed nearly every type of facility. Much of his engineering analysis has involved costly and complex construction. His cost segregation expertise includes nearly every type of facility – from apartments to hotels…pharmaceutical to warehouses…R&D facilities to broadcast studios…oil refineries to auto dealerships, and everything in between. Mr. Effinger has developed proprietary software for direct costing of property units and allocation of indirects. His comprehensive understanding of what constitutes a structural component versus tangible property is key to creating significant tax savings for major corporations.
Prior to joining the Mentor Group, Inc., Mr. Effinger was senior vice president with Marshall & Stevens. He worked many years in real property appraisal and construction analysis for Arthur D. Little Valuation and American Appraisal.
